It is brewed in the classic ” Double ” style, according to the original recipe from 1946. Called ” Paterke” for other dark drinks, this beer has become a model. St Bernardus Pater 6 is characterized by a chestnut color with a cream collar.
” Paterke ” is not an ordinary dark beer. It combines the delicious flavors of special malt and the lively taste of ripe forest fruits. The first impressions in the mouth are reminiscent of hazelnut and mocha. They continue with a combination that is both unusual and fun, between the flavor of dark candied sugar and lightly roasted dry grain. The rich aromas of pear and apple end with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
St Bernardus Pater 6 goes perfectly with pork preserves and is also a nice contrast to spicy cheeses.
